TMC, a global, integrated media company, once again recognized Patton (News - Alert) Electronics by naming its US-manufactured SmartNode 4670 VoIP IAD with ADSL Interface as its 2012 Internet Telephony Product of the Year.

TMC launched the awards back in 1998 as a way of calling attention to companies who “demonstrated the vision, leadership, and thoroughness associated with the Product of the Year Award.” The awards, which were announced on December 14, mark the eighth year in a row that Patton Electronics has won the product of the year award.

“Again, I congratulate the Patton team for their longstanding commitment to advancing IP communication technologies in the global market,” said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), CEO, TMC. “For the eighth consecutive year we are pleased to recognize Patton with our Product of The Year Award.”

Last year, Patton won for its SmartNode 4120 ISDN BRI PSTN Gateway (News - Alert), which enabled any IP-PBX and UC System to connect to a public ISDN network. The technology has since been improved upon with the release of the latest winner, the SmartNode 4670 VoIP IAD with ADSL Interface. Now, users can connect all voice and fax systems through one Enterprise-class VoIP Integrated Access Device, giving them more flexibility, interoperability, and increased security through a new DownStream QoS service.

Patton explained some of the technologies specs saying now users can connect with a 4-wire 11.4 Mbps G.SHDSL.bis, 100-Mbps fiber, or 24-Mbps ADSL WAN interface and take advantage of a new T.38, SuperG3 Fax, enhanced G.711 fax and modem bypass, set to provide users with a reliable fax over VoIP networks. TMC said these features made for an easy win.
