Juniper Networks Enhances vGW Virtual Gateway Solution for IPv6 with new Cloud API and SDKs
Juniper Networks (News As cloud service demand and virtual workloads grow, with the IPv6 transition already taking place among organizations, the need for security solutions to keep pace with greater performance and automation has been essential. The latest upgrades to the vGW now offers secure IPv4 and IPv6 protocols while administering efficient and secure services to enterprises and service providers that have a global reach. To help service providers offer even better security controls in their virtualized environments, vGW now comes with a new cloud API and software developer’s kits (SDKs) with automated security configurations and significant cost savings. Other enhancements include firewall enforcement and policy administration to enable more flexibility and greater traffic protection efficiency. The new API and SDK will now make it possible for businesses to set up customized portals offering self-service access to VM and on-demand security provisioning. Scale-wise, vGW management facilitates large-scale multi-tenant cloud deployment security mechanisms that are more granular and with customizable security segmentation. vGW also offers enterprises a cost-effective and an extremely scalable virtualization security management solution. “Trends show that virtualized security continues to be an integral component of the new network and data center,” said Johnie Konstantas, director of product marketing at Juniper Networks, Security Business Unit. “Juniper Networks vGW Series addresses the toughest business challenges customers are facing.” Konstantas said the implementation of vGW Series will offer powerful high-performance security of the largest scale. Hosting.com’s cloud firewall product is powered by the vGW platform, and according to the director of architecture at the company, Darrell Hyde, it “enables the company to offer a secure cloud solution with a simple, self-service user experience to build and scale its customers’” security policies. He added that the new enhancements and the introduction of IPv6 support in vGW will enable the company to be “always ready to scale to meet the capacity needs of customers.”
