Patton Sponsors VoiceSA, a Cutting-Edge Telco Event in South Africa

By John Lahtinen, Community Development Editor, TMCnet

Following up on the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural event, the VoiceSA conference, co-sponsored by Patton (News - Alert), kicks off today in Johannesburg. VoiceSA is South Africa’s only voice-industry event covering the latest development in business communication solutions and trends in the local telecommunications landscape.

“VoiceSA 2010 was an incredible event,” said Doug Hill, Director of Patton-Inalp Networks for the Northern Europe, Israel and South Africa regions, in a release. “The conference brought together VoIP market leaders from all over South Africa. With over 250 delegates, the South African VoIP market was represented by the companies that are taking the right steps toward fully integrated IP services. With over 400 registrations for VoiceSA 2011, as a vendor we believe that this where we need to be present to move into the next three year period of incredible growth in the South African VoIP market.”

The free one-day conference and networking event has quickly become a popular event among the emerging telecoms players in South Africa, and serves as a valuable platform to facilitate open discussion and collaboration around important industry issues.

More than 250 of South Africa’s telecoms heavyweights and industry professionals attended last year’s conference, which included presentations from local and international thought leaders on topics ranging from government regulation and fixed mobile convergence to open-source telephony and converged communications.

A definite highlight of the event is the technology showcase which takes place in conjunction with the conference, featuring solutions and products from leading brands and solutions providers.

Patton, a multi-national organization that designs, develops, and manufactures electronic communications equipment for network access, connectivity, voice-over-IP, triple play and video surveillance, will be featuring its SmartNode™ VoIP solutions for analog and ISDN telephony.

Recently, Patton announced that it is now taking orders for its new, U.S.-manufactured CopperLink 2174 series of ultra-high-speed Ethernet Extender, with initial shipments expected next month.
