Opengear Intros New Secure Remote Monitoring and Management Gateway Line
Opengear (News - Alert), a company offering secure enterprise-grade console servers and remote management solutions, has introduced the new Opengear ACM5500, which belongs to the next-generation, customizable remote monitoring and management (RMM) gateway product family. The latest release, the Opengear ACM5500 product family is backed by open standards that complements the tools currently used to manage customers’ IT environments. This rules-out the ‘rip and replace’ concept for the solution. Along with this, the new ACM5500 offers serial console-port connectivity, environmental monitoring, power management and monitoring and remote site storage of offline logs and running configuration files, in addition to environmental sensors, local 4GB storage, internal v.92 and cellular modems that enable out-of-band access, auto response, power management and security. With the Opengear ACM5500 family of RMM gateways, secure in-band and out-of-band access to remote sites is available from anywhere in the world, thereby providing better control and visibility into a network and its physical environment, said the company officials. Additionally, the new ACM5500 family is fully scalable with up to thousands of units are accessible by CMS/VCMS(cloud) with Call Home, so no CPE network reconfiguration is needed. It even promises to reduce outages due to device misconfigurations, frozen/bricked routers/switches and equipment overheating. According to Bedrick, by having easily deployable hardware agents that can be integrated into a common cloud-based operational management and control system, MSPs have the luxury of increasing their profits and boosting customer satisfaction. The company will be showcasing the entire Opengear product line, including the new ACM5500, in booth #831 at ITEXPO East 2012. To be held Jan. 31- Feb. 3 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami, Fla., ITEXPO (News - Alert) is the world’s premier IP communications event.
