TMCnet VoIP Routers Week in Review
It was a busy week in the VoIP Routers sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet. TelcoDepot.com has expanded cordless analog phone offerings on its online store. The company now stocks an expanded range of cordless analog phone systems for businesses, including the AT&T SB67118 4-Line Corded/Cordless Small Business Phone (News - Alert) System, the AT&T TL86109 DECT 6.0 2-Line Bluetooth Cord/Cordless Phone Kit, and AT&T SB67118 Corded/ Cordless Phone System Base with 4 Handsets. The third phone features DECT (News - Alert) 6.0 technology with four handsets and voicemail. In another story, Virtutone Networks recently introduced its Simple Network Access Portal (SNAP!), saying that it allows Virtutone customers and resellers to quickly provision and manage Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) lines from any Internet connection worldwide. SNAP! Will also help Virtutone advance as a global provider of VoIP and Fax over Internet Protocol (FoIP) to the drilling segment of the oil and gas market, as well as open up new markets that need an easy way to activate and deactivate lines and telephony features. TMCnet also reported that Opengear, a company which provides secure enterprise-grade console servers and remote management solutions, is now offering Opengear (News - Alert) ACM5500. It is a customizable remote monitoring and management gateway product. The latest release features serial console-port connectivity, environmental monitoring, power management and monitoring, and remote site storage of offline logs and running configuration files. In still another report, Quintron Systems, a supplier of interoperable voice, physical access control and intrusion detection systems, completed delivery of a major DICES VoIP system to the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). The DICES system is the first major IP-based user system introduced onto the WSMR Test Support Network (TSN) and will replace several disparate, aging voice systems. And Thomas Beck, director of Marketing and Business Development at Teo, recently spoke to TMCnet about changes in unified communications during 2011. He also explained obstacles that can be solved when implementing VoIP solutions. Even with winter weather, Teo and its customers who use the Teo UC system are 100 percent operational even with ice, snow or dangerous winds.
