TMCnet's VoIP Routers Week in Review

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Recapping some of the top stories in the VoIP space for the past week, TMC noted that elecommunications and IP distributor Novus has been named Epygi (News - Alert) Gold Distributor for the third year in a row.

Novus serves value-added resellers throughout North America, and Epygi Technologies designs and manufactures feature-rich IP PBXs, VoIP gateways and cost-savings conference servers.

Novus claims it is Epygi’s largest and most active distributor in the United States and the entire Epygi Quadro family is available now from Novus to resellers throughout the nation.

Products such as Quadro IP PBXs are designed to suit all kinds of budgets and make companies appear larger, faster, and more sophisticated.

TMC (News - Alert) also reported that to make voice over IP (VoIP) telephony service attractive for senior citizens across the country, VoIP call provider ITP VoIP has tailored broadband phone service for seniors who are on limited budgets and shy away from advanced technologies.

The VoIP call provider said that the new IP telephony service features low-cost plans, quick installation time and general ease of use.

According to ITP VoIP, unlike traditional phone and cable services, the VoIP call service combines simplicity and cost-efficiency with the freedom of individual customization, making it a universally accessible communication option. Thus, bringing savings of over $100 per month in telephone service to seniors, said the service provider.

And TMC had the news that TelcoDepot.com, a supplier of VoIP phones, business VoIP Service, hosted PBX (News - Alert) solutions, conferencing systems, general phone equipment and telephony support solutions for businesses, has announced a reduced price offer on all RCA 25801 Routers ordered from its online store.

The router supports up to eight phone lines and 25 stations as a part of the RCA fully plug-and-play eight line x 25 station Digital Business Phone (News - Alert) System. The system suits small to medium businesses that may use up to 25 extensions. It just requires plugging the system into a standard office Ethernet network and can add up to 25 base stations and corded business phones, as well as one cordless handset per base. Phones and handsets are sold separately.

The router also includes eight phone-line ports so there is no need for external VoIP support and can automatically configure each phone base station as it is added to the network.
