Wind Communications Redefines Voice and Video Calling with mVoIP
Wind Currents Communications, Inc (WCCI) , which is as an Internet Phone (News - Alert) Service company specializing in voice-and-video-over-IP products and calling plans, claims to have redefined voice and video calling with the introduction of mVoIP for the iPad and iPhone (News - Alert). This has been made possible by bundling affordable V2VIP business phone services with the iV2VIP Video Softphone, a downloadable SIP client app that has the ability to convert a smartphone into a videophone, said company officials. John Monahan, CEO at Wind Communications said in a press release, “The iV2VIP Video Softphone bundled with V2 VIP services creates an affordable and reliable fully managed voice-and-video telecommunications solution over existing network infrastructures, even fire-walled environments.” The app utilizes G.729, GSM and G,711 audio codecs for crisp, clear voice and a H.264 video codec to enable worldwide in-network video calling via iPhone or iPad smartphone devices running on iOS5. Businesses of all sizes can choose from three V2VIP Business Calling Plans and can use the V2 VIP service to make video calls or voice calls to anyone using desktop videophones or a video softphone. All that is required is a broadband Internet connection, a minimum of 128 Kbps upload speed, a calling plan and the iV2VIP Video Softphone As the mobile device can be added on as a second line at no additional charge, mobile staff can connect to any telephone number in the U.S. or Canada remotely from anywhere using the existing office number. This ensures that all incoming calls are available on both devices at the same time. Users can thus make and receive calls without interrupting either of the calls. This in turn helps increase productivity and collaboration and increase savings. Mini Swamy is a contributing editor for TMCnet. To read more of her articles, please visit her columnist page.
