And the Countdown Begins: Patton Exhibiting at ITEXPO West 2012
There’s about four weeks left until the highly anticipated ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2012 event takes place. ITEXPO serves as a symbol of all of the latest and greatest in the rapidly evolving world of communications and technology. Taking place October 2-5 in Austin, Texas, ITEXPO is self-described as “the only place you’ll get the broad picture, as well as in depth-details.” Enterprise, government and SMB end users, resellers, service providers, manufacturers, developers, media and analysts are united for a full week packed with business-building, research and developmental insights, as well as conference sessions, demo products and live services and tutorials on the floor. ITEXPO ultimately works to offer an educational program to help corporate decision makers select the perfect IP-based voice, video, fax and unified communications solutions to improve their various operations. Of the many companies exhibiting at this highly anticipated bi-annual event is Patton (News - Alert), an esteemed provider of VoIP, video surveillance, network access and Ethernet extension solutions, who will be exhibiting at booth #1014. With over 25 years of seasoned experience in the industry, Patton has been well-known as customers’ primary source for award-winning routers, high-speed Internet, Ethernet extends and remote access servers. I was able to speak with Tyler Delin, Smartnode product manager at Patton, and Sean Gerrity, regional director North America and Japan, who exclusively detailed the company’s expectations and insights into the technology and communications event. “At ITEXPO, we are bringing complete, best of breed solutions rather than bringing just hardware,” Delin says. “We are combining our SmartNode Gateways and our outstanding free customer support and joining them with the products and services of other industry leaders to offer the market complete, best of breed solutions.” Tyler elaborated that at one booth, the company plans to showcase its new SIP Enable solution with Vitelity. This solution offers users the ability to connect their existing legacy PBX to Vitely SIP trunks via Patton’s SmartNode VoIP Gateway (News In another booth, the company plans to show its complete line of IP-PBX (News - Alert) solutions, which integrate existing legacy telephony equipment and POTS lines with 3CX Phone System. The 3CX Phone System for Windows offers small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) many benefits when compared to their traditional counterparts, such as cost-savings, added scalability, easier management, robust feature sets and enhanced worker productivity. “For many businesses, a complete overhaul of their existing telephony infrastructure may not initially be the most desirable approach; there may be concerns with trusting a new unfamiliar VoIP service provider, or there may be concerns over the initial capital necessary for purchasing new VoIP equipment, or even reliability concerns regarding the data connectivity necessary for VoIP calling,” Delin explains. Gerrity adds that the integration of SIP trunking services with existing telephony systems within the enterprise has been a noticeable industry trend. “Many businesses can’t or don’t want to afford wholesale replacement for their working, paid-for phones systems. Plus there’s the re-training your people factor when it comes to that,” he explains. “Patton is playing into that real world market need with solutions that offer a SIP-base PBX, with cost savings and richer features for the end users. Patton’s SmartNode VoIP gear SIP enables the enterprise without having to throw out perfectly good equipment that still has plenty of life in it.” The company has been making many strides in its respective markets. Recently, it expanded its CopperLink CL1314 line of Ethernet extenders with the addition of its rugged CL1314R and CL1312MDE long-range Ethernet extenders. These new additions were developed with multi-drop IP networking and long-distance Ethernet LAN capabilities, which link Ethernet LANs over four miles apart in harsh environments.
Or, for example, Patton’s highly-praised BODI rS VPN router series, which is proving to be extremely popular among companies across the board for increased worker productivity and greater control over efficient, fat-pipe bandwidth, as well as its unique ability to balance control for both mobile and fixed platforms – ranging from small to large sizes – as explained in this article.
