TMCnet VoIP Routers Week in Review

By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

It was a busy week in the VoIP Routers sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

SolveForce, a telecom company providing dedicated services including T1 line bandwidth and T3 lines to businesses, will introduce its services to Connecticut. The company has brought dedicated lines to the city of Bridgeport. These dedicated lines are designed to provide increased security and transfer data much faster than regular lines. They can either be Point to Point Lines – going straight from one location to another – or multiple location lines servicing several locations. Other Connecticut cities, including Hartford and Stamford, are taking advantage of services like VPN, and VPLS, which create private networks for businesses.

It was also reported that Aastra has announced the latest version of the Aastra (News - Alert) BluStar Application Server (BAS). BAS is part of the Aastra BluStar solution, with HD video conferencing and collaboration capabilities. With the new release, Aastra eliminates barriers to successful integration of remote workers into the enterprise.

In another story, CommPeak Ltd., a provider of wholesale VoIP termination services for call centers and businesses, has revamped its company website. As part of the upgrade, the company introduced a smart and intuitive user portal for its customers, allowing easier account setup, integration and credit management, statistics and billing reports.

Also, Exact Ventures reports in a new NGN Voice and IMS Core Quarterly Report, the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) core market has maintained its variable growth momentum. It saw a slower growth rate in Q1 and a substantially higher growth rate in Q2 of 2012. According to the report, the market grew nearly 40 percent, compared to same time period last year. The report attributed Q2 growth of the IMS market to wireline deployments in China. During Q1, growth of the IMS market was mainly driven by voice-over-LTE (News - Alert) (VoLTE) deployments in North America, the report said.  Huawei led the IMS core market during Q2, followed by Nokia, Siemens (News - Alert), Ericsson and Mavenir.

And ABP Technology will participate in ITEXPO, Austin 2012, one of the world’s largest communications and technology marketplaces, Oct. 2-5 in Austin, TX. The company will offer its portfolio in VoIP and IP Surveillance. It also will feature new solutions including Windows-based phone systems, video conferencing, IP phones and IP cameras, as well as routers for managed IP services. It will be at Booth No. 1014 in the Austin Convention Center.
