Mushroom Networks Introduces Truffle Server
By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor
San Diego, CA.-based Mushroom Networks (News - Alert) has revealed the launch of its Truffle (News - Alert) Server, which, when peered with the branch office Truffles, can create a virtual leased line with the faster and reliable bonded IP tunnel for cloud applications.
“With our Truffle Server, companies have an ideal delivery method to share intensive cloud applications between the HQ and the branches,” said Dr. Cahit Akin (News - Alert), co-founder and CEO of Mushroom Networks, adding that branches can now access various applications within the private cloud, including voice over Internet protocol (VoIP).
Touted as the first cost-effective bonding solution, Truffle Server enables seamless headquarter-to-branch connectivity for cloud applications. Moreover, Broadband Bonding enables application continuity. Company officials said that in real-time, Broadband Bonding shields the applications from ISP outages to prevent any interruption in the on-going service.
Dr. Akin said that the unstoppable trend is for businesses increasingly looking to the cloud for application deployment, which will continue to place stress on WAN resources. He also added that Truffle Server allows the enterprise to address this growing problem, ultimately eliminating latency or connection issues to ensure branch staff members can work efficiently.
Additionally, through a bonded IP tunnel, consisting of several DSL, cable, fiber, wireless, or satellite Ethernet-based connections from any ISP, Truffle devices located at branch offices can connect to the Truffle Server.
Company officials said that any IP traffic can be transmitted via this bonded tunnel, including file transfers, network storage, and IP-based real-time applications such as VoIP. Further, the high bandwidth speeds found on this Truffle connection are bi-directional.
Moreover, enterprises can mix and match services from several providers. Company officials said that with the Truffle, multiple DSL, cable modem or T1 services can be combined to provide higher speed and reliable Internet access.
Mushroom Networks is a provider of patent pending Broadband Bonding solutions to a range of Internet connection applications. The company's flagship product line serves SMBs, enterprises, multi-tenant buildings, and broadband service providers and bonds dissimilar broadband access technologies forming a single broadband pipe that can easily scale based on needs.
Earlier in May, the company launched its Real Time Broadband Bonding technology.
