IR's Prognosis VoIP Monitor 4 Features Multi-Vendor Support for Avaya, Microsoft Lync and Cisco
By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor
Want to monitor, measure and manage a multi-vendor unified communications (UC) portfolio using a single solution? If so, Prognosis (News - Alert) VoIP Monitor 4 from Integrated Research (IR) is the answer, as the latest version of Prognosis VoIP Monitor now incorporates multi−vendor support for Avaya (News - Alert), Microsoft Lync and Cisco.
As a provider of high-definition performance monitoring, diagnostics and reporting software, IR has integrated voice quality monitoring for Avaya, Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync and Cisco Unified Communications Manager voice quality management in real time into Prognosis VoIP Monitor 4.
According to IR, the Prognosis VoIP Monitor 4 is built using the latest mobile and tablet-friendly technology for increased productivity even while on-the-go. In addition, it has the ability to rapidly identify the root causes of problems without using probes to eliminate network’s security risk.
With the help of Prognosis VoIP Monitor’s multi-vendor capabilities, organizations with up to 5,000 phones will now be able to manage voice quality across Avaya, Microsoft Lync and Cisco simultaneously. This consequently ensures improved call quality, service reliability and proactive issue resolution.
In a statement, John Dunne, general manager, products and alliances, said, “As we’ve had over 12 years of extensive experience in managing VoIP, users don’t need to create any monitoring or alert conditions, they’re all there right out of the box – across multiple vendors. Unlike probe-based solutions network managers don’t have to interfere with existing network structure or security; and with minimal set up Prognosis VoIP Monitor eases Lync integration into existing VoIP environments.”
Offering an easy upgrade path to IR’s well-established Prognosis for Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC), the existing Prognosis VoIP management skills facilitates IT staff to meet KPIs and service levels and also ensures a match with existing processes, tool kits and team structures.
Prognosis for UC allows organizations of any size to manage UC applications and devices, in addition to voice quality, across multiple vendors and technologies, thereby easing VoIP to UC businesses transition.
Mark Brayan, CEO for Integrated Research (News - Alert), said in a statement, “Microsoft Lync is inherently multi-vendor as it uses hardware and software from other vendors. We have taken the best of our existing product, embraced state of the art technologies and created world-class unified voice quality monitoring for Avaya, Microsoft Lync and Cisco.”
In particular, Microsoft Lync is really taking off in the UC market, with businesses increasingly embracing Microsoft-Lync interoperability. Patton Electronics, for example, is another business that boasts Microsoft Lync-support to provide a self-described “gateway to Microsoft Lync.” Its SmartNode VoIP Gateway, for example, enables SMBs to connect incompatible SIP endpoints, PSTN lines and legacy telephony to their Lync environment for increased efficiency and productivity – all without having to suffer from heavy costs.
“Unified Communications makes some mouth-watering promises for businesses of all sizes, yet a lot of companies might feel like they are on the outside looking in, especially small to medium enterprises (SMEs),” Glen Flowers, product marketing manager at Patton, further explained.
The Microsoft Lync craze continues, and as it does, companies are right there to help meet businesses address their unique needs.
