It was a busy week in the VoIP Routers sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.

To add a little more warmth to this holiday season, Santa Claus is going high-tech, with Vonage customers being able to call him all through Christmas Eve. Customers can dial 1-700-CALL-SANTA (1-700-225-5726). To ensure that these wishes are fulfilled, the phone message will be sent to the Vonage (News - Alert) account holder's e-mail address as an audio attachment. That way, customers will get to see that the correct gifts go under the tree on Christmas Eve and everyone gets what they want. Callers can actually track Santa’s movements as he delivers presents all around the world.

In another story, Bright House Networks, the sixth largest owner and operator of cable systems in the United States and the second largest in Florida, has acquired Tampa-based Telovations (News - Alert), a cloud communications provider that delivers businesses hosted voice solutions.

It was also reported that the Mesh Networks has devised a new way to figure out how much each house will have when it comes to bandwidth. Using the HomeNet Router, users will be able to customize their home network’s bandwidth settings per device, and will be able to set a strict and effective priority schedule.

In addition, Voip-Pal.Com has two pending U.S. patents. The company, which entered into an acquisition contract with Digifonica, is awaiting the Lawful Intercept and Mobile Gateway patents.

And TMCnet’s Gary Kim (News - Alert) reports that Orange has officially launched Libon. The iPhone version is “live” in the Apple iPhone App Store, with an Android (News - Alert) version to be released in early 2013. The free version of Libon includes such things as free calls, instant messages and voicemail services.
