GL Intros Availability of ATM Protocol Analysis and Emulation Solution
GL Communications (News - Alert) Inc., a specialist supplier of test, monitoring, and analysis equipment for TDM, Wireless, IP, and VoIP networks, has introduced its ATM Protocol Analysis and Emulation software. In a statement, Jagdish Vadalia, senior manager for product development of the company said, “GL's ATM Analyzer is used to analyze and decode different ATM protocols like ATM, AAL2 Protocols (CPS-SDU, SSSAR-SDU, and SSCS), AAL5 (CPCS), and UNI etc across U plane and C plane of UNI and NNI interface. The analyzer can also decode ATM frames constituting Classical IP over ATM, or CIP based networks and traditional SS7 Stack (ISUP, SCCP, MAP, CAMEL (CAP) etc) over ATM. The analyzer is also capable of capturing & reassembling frames that were transmitted with Inverse Multiplexing. IMA combines up to 8 T1 E1 links to form a single high-speed connection with flexible bandwidth options.” Capabilities of the ATM Protocol Analyzer include ability to display summary, provide detailed Hex-dump, Statistics, and Call Detail Views; supports call tracing based on UNI signalling parameters such as VPI/VCI among others. Vadalia said, “The Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA) Emulator application can simulate the inverse multiplexing of an ATM cell stream over multiple physical links and retrieve the original stream at the far-end from these physical links. The multiplexing of the ATM cell stream is performed on a cell by cell basis across the multiple physical links. Traffic source can be sequence number, HDL files, flat binary file, user-defined frames (ASCII HEX file), and Ethernet data.” Important capabilities Of ATM IMA Emulator include support for IMA simulation on up to 16 T1 E1 ports; easy creation of ATM links on full or fractional timeslots; hyper channels support with discontinuous (sparse) timeslots; IMA Frame Length set equal to 32, 64, 128, or 256; adding and or removal of ATM links without any data loss; supporting creation of multiple IMA groups where each group can be configured with multiple virtual channels for traffic tx/rx; support for generation and verification of end to end traffic on each Virtual Channel; and support of user configurable ATM (AAL 5, AAL 2) Packet size.
