Securifi recently introduced the follow up to its successful Almond Wireless Router, the Almond+. The company is touting Almond+ as the first color touchscreen wireless router that features an integrated smart home hub. As such, this device offers extremely fast wireless connectivity with its dual-band 802.11ac wireless technology as well as home automation capabilities. Securifi will be showing Almond+ to the public for the first time this week at CES (News - Alert) 2013 and will also be launching a Kickstarter campaign to support the product’s launch. Based on the latest and fastest Wi-Fi standard, Almond+ supports 1.167Mbps throughput, while delivery many of the same features that helped the original Almond router be ranked the "#1 Best Rated Wireless Router" on Amazon.com (News
"We are creating a revolutionary new wireless router that is simple to use, features the fastest possible connectivity speeds and delivers the ultimate connected home automation experience to help make people's lives easier and their world a smarter place," said Rammohan Malasani, founder and CEO of Securifi. "Ever since the introduction of Wi-Fi more than a decade ago, the way most of us interact with this technology hasn't changed much at all. We are confident that the market is ready and we are looking to backers on Kickstarter to help us bring this exciting new product to market and share in our success." Securifi launched the Almond about a year ago and it has since added Japanese language support to the router this past October. As CES is proving to be a great launching pad for 802.11 ac capabilities, it is putting the spotlight on how Wi-Fi in the home, driven by a combination of a proliferation personal devices and the need for higher bandwidth for improved customer experiences is helping drive business not just for Securifi, but also companies like Patton and others in the VoIP routing and gateway business who are helping service providers increase their services revenues by making VoIP the future of voice communications along with facilitating a host of other quality multimedia communications.
