TMCnet VoIP Routers Week in Review
While a tad slower than last week, the VoIP routers sector still had a fair amount of noteworthy events this week with partnerships, patent interest and a look ahead to ITEXPO (News - Alert) Miami 2013. First up, Logitech made available a series of enhancements meant to make IP communications even more user friendly on Cisco's Jabber UC platform. These capabilities can reduce both the cost and complexity of communication and collaboration in any organization. Specifically, the Logitech (News - Alert) UC Solution for Cisco 725-C includes the Logitech UC Keyboard K725-C with dedicated keys for managing calls on a computer or virtual desktop, as well as the full-HD C920-C Webcam and the M525-C Wireless Mouse. All components of the UC Solution have been certified as interoperable by Cisco. Next, Patton Electronics selected ABP Technology to distribute its new line of bandwidth-on-demand Internet bonding routers, the BODi system. The BODi rS is designed for use with fixed and mobile enterprises of all sizes with bonding capabilities reaching up to seven 3G/4G/LTE, Wi-Fi, WiMAX (News - Alert) or VSAT uplinks. “We are confident that ABP’s knowledge and experience effectively positions them to introduce BODi rS to key target markets,” said Brian Lawlor, product manager for BODi rS at Patton (News - Alert). “As we launch this exciting technology together, we look forward to strengthening our successful partnership with ABP.” In other news, Voip-Pal stated that several parties, including some Fortune 500 companies, have shown interest in acquiring patent applications and patents co-owned by the company and Digifonica. Digifonica is a newly acquired subsidiary of Voip-Pal, which was acquired partly due to its proprietary VoIP softswitch program. Currently, the talks with interested parties for the acquisition of the patent applications and patents are in the verbal discussion phase, meaning no further information has been disclosed yet. Some of the patents in question include Routing, Billing and Rating engine ("Producing routing messages for VoIP communications") and Lawful Intercept ("Intercepting VoIP communications and other data communications.") Lastly, 888VoIP stated it would demonstrate its complete VoIP solution at ITEXPO Miami 2013. This solution incorporates units from 3CX Patton Electronics, CyberData and Yealink (News - Alert). Parts to be showcased include an IP PBX for Windows, SmartNode gateways from Patton, an overhead IP paging and intercom system from CyberData and more. "Every day, the expert staff at 888VoIP works together with our outstanding Channel Partners to deliver cost-effective, easy-to-use solutions that satisfy the needs of their clients," said John Molino, president of 888VoIP. "At ITEXPO Miami, we look forward to meeting with new and existing resellers, service providers, manufacturers, and IT executives to discuss ways that 888VoIP can help them successfully achieve their goals." That's all for this week in review, but more news can be found at the VoIP Routers Community. Want to learn more about the latest in communications and technology?
