RedSky E911 Manager Clears Interoperability Certification from the Joint Interoperability Test Command
By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor
RedSky (News - Alert) Technologies, Inc recently announced that its E911 Manager has cleared interoperability testing with the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). RedSky's E911 Manage has been designed to support virtual computing environments, SIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert).
RedSky Technologies are specialist providers of on-premise and cloud-based E911 solutions for enterprise customers. By clearing interoperability testing from JITC, RedSky’s E911 Manager Version 6.3.1 has now been placed on the Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL). The company’s flagship product will now be used as an E911 Management System (EMS) with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
In a statement, Anthony Maier, RedSky's chief executive officer, said that, "Our U.S. government and military customers have specific and often unique E911 needs in terms of requirements, certifications, and purchasing. We believe this certification validates our extensive experience protecting high-profile facilities and meeting the force protection requirements of the Department of Defence."
E911 Manager has been designed to enable easy integration with leading call servers and PBXs for enabling tracking and providing detailed location of all types of phones within the enterprise network. These include all kinds of analog, digital, SIP, H.323 phones as well as WiFi (News - Alert) and softphones. Once tracked, the software then updates the location information that is used by call takers in public safety answering points (PSAPs) across the country for quick emergency response dispatch.
RedSky’s on-premise and cloud-based E911 solutions are currently used by more than a million workers, students, guests and visitors who depend on RedSky for E911 protection. The company leverages legacy standards and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) i3 standards for advanced 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) which makes it easy for enterprises to offer effective 9-1-1 emergency response. It also helps customers comply with state E911 regulations while addressing business requirements.
