ADTRAN Adds Total Access 5004 Solution to its Ultra-Broadband Portfolio
By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor
Darrell Brown, director of broadband product line management said, “ADTRAN’s years of experience supporting the top service providers in the world have enabled us to innovate and deliver the industry’s most versatile premium services access solution in the Total Access 5004.”
The Total Access 5004 is a small form-factor product designed with separate data and control planes, carrier-class redundancy, high scalability features and a complete non-blocking architecture.
The compact solution serves as a multi-service access platform (MSAP) system that provides higher rate premium services over fiber or copper in a network. This flexible ultra-broadband platform aims to help service providers cut capital and operating costs.
Officials explained that the new platform is based on ADTRAN’s advanced services architecture allowing it to provide converged residential and business services. According the company, Service providers can benefit from the high architectural scalability and the true carrier-class availability.
In addition, the Total Access 5004 solution aims to reduce the customer service take rate threshold for delivering premium services to distant, underserved markets, thereby extending the reach of the addressable service market. The consolidation of all services onto a common access infrastructure optimizes operational costs as it only uses a single network.
“As our customers look to accelerate premium service delivery to Gigabit service levels over fiber or copper, ADTRAN is offering unmatched flexibility and scalability to help them achieve and exceed their deployment goals with a fresh approach. The Total Access 5004 with our advanced services architecture really reinvents the game,” pointed out Brown.
Recently Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS), a provider of billing, subscriber management and provisioning systems, integrated its WinCable subscriber management and billing system with ADTRAN’s AOE management system and the Total Access 5000 multi-service access platform. The newly integrated offering helps broadband service providers bring down revenue loss and enhance customer satisfaction.
