VoIP Logic Unveils New Version of Cortex OSS
By Meenakshi Shankar, TMCnet Contributor
Managing the increasing cost and complexity of running facilities-based communication services is to say the least a significant challenge for service providers. Major tasks lie, for instance, in accurately provisioning and managing back-end operations considering the constant expansions, integrations, add-on systems and general enhancements.
Managed services provider VoIP Logic (News - Alert) delivers its technology in a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) delivery model. Leveraging its Cortex OSS enables its service provider partners to provide Hosted PBX (News - Alert), Unified Communications (UC) and other enhanced services with dramatically reduced costs through things like more easily provisioning and managing groups and end users.
VoIP Logic has announced a new version of its proprietary Cortex software. “Our goal for Cortex is to address unique obstacles – like bulk on-boarding, DID provisioning, integrated 911 provisioning and multi-vendor management from a single sign-on - for our service provider partners,” said Micah Singer (News - Alert), chief executive officer at VoIP Logic. He added that, “Cortex allows us to augment a best-of-breed platform with inventive intellectual property.
Key enhancements of the new Cortex OSS version 3.4.8 include:
Partners seemed pleased by the announcement of the new capabilities. “Cortex is a really useful utility when working with VoIP Logic’s platform. For us, it made the transition of the PanasonicCloud Business Phone (News - Alert) customer database possible,” said Scott Karmozyn, President of Loud & Clear Telecommunications. “On a day-to-day basis, DID provisioning and single user multi-enterprise login is what we use the most. The configurable external links in the new release is a basic feature that makes the system considerably more user friendly.”
Recent worldwide PaaS forecasts indicate that the worldwide market is expected to grow to over $14 billion by 2017. The opportunities for monetizing public PaaS functionality will be high due to the advances being made in social, mobile, and real-time contextual activities. VoIP Logic with its integrations and the continuing evolution of its PaaS solutions for its partners is positioning itself well as the market for next generation hosted communications and UC continues to grow.
